Remote ID

Direct Remote ID is a local broadcast of information about a drone in flight, so that this information can be received by other parties/authorities locally. Network Remote ID is a transmission of information from the UAV in a way that it can be received through a network (over Internet connection).

No, the idME series from AEROBITS does not have internal battery.

AEROBITS idME series uses an external power supply e.g. small powerbanks to let the Users have more freedom to choose. Else, the Users can plug in idME directly to Pixhawk by using a micro USB or JST connection/cable.

Yes, all idME devices are compatible with present concept of U-Space.

You need to download free AEROBITS software where you can configure Remote ID modules: LINK. 


You should add after minus “-“ sign 3 last characters (digits) in your Drone Operator Number ID. UAS operator number looks like “XXXxxxxxxxxxxxxx-xyz”. The first part of the number should be clearly visible on your drone. The three digits at the end (xyz – are randomly generated during registration process as a Drone Operator) is your private “secret digit” code that should not be shared with anybody else. It is used to enhance the protection of your personal registration number. You need to input the full number in Remote ID module system. There should be a specific length of this number: 20 characters all together including minus sign.

Micro_ADS-B_App is dedicated software from AEROBITS to configure Remote ID devices. It is available free of charge to be downloaded from Aerobits’ website.

There are many of them on the market. However, Aerobits suggests installing Open Drone ID application on your smartphone/tablet, which is free of charge software. More information at: opendroneid.org.

No, ADS-B cannot be used interchangeably with RID devices. The technology used is different and the purpose is different. Remote ID uses Bluetooth/Wi-Fi signals. ADS-B system serves the unique purpose of enabling surveillance for Air Traffic Control purposes, Remote Identification enables third parties to identify UAV and locate their operators.
